The reports are not true Celine Dion is ALIVE. In a split of a second rumor scattered on the internet that Celine Dion died. For a short moment, many people thought iconic singer Celine Dion had died. The 45-year-old pop star was the latest victim of a celebrity death hoax on Nov. 9, and not surprisingly, she is not very happy about it.
The reports are not true and Dion says they are making her a little mad. “Sometimes it’s freaky because I have to call my family about it, I was celebrating the birthday of my twins in Montreal and I was getting these phone calls saying there was stuff on Facebook that I was dead.”
The faux CNN post was headlined ‘R.I.P. Celine Dion 1968 – 2013′ and went on: ‘At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday, Celine Dion died in a plane crash.’ The report claimed the accident took place in Denver-Peak Regional Airport.
The Facebook posts link to a scoundrel Facebook app that Facebook has been shutting down as it gets reports of it. Some of the posts bear well-known news logos to entice people to click. Do not click on any Facebook post that links to the purported story of her death.
And huge news like Celine’s death, no matter how fake it is, it has a tendency to spread like wildfire on social media. This is the second time Celine, 45, has been hit by a death hoax. So, the next you read something that’s too good to be true on Facebook think again.
